Today’s Encouragement is Titus 2:11-12 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, [12] training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,
The Grace of God has appeared-
Already, past tense and present tense, Jesus has appeared, and He has brought salvation for all who believe. He, Himself, is the Grace of God. Grace isn’t an idea or a concept or a principle… Grace is Jesus… just as God is Love.
And the Grace that is Jesus- trains us, teaching and advising us to:
Renounce ungodliness
Reject worldly passions,
and instead, live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives
We’re never going to be perfect, let’s be clear. We are going to fail at seeking perfection. However, that cannot be used as an excuse to fail to choose to live a godly life! Not trying for perfection for all time… but simply this moment, one moment in time… reject ungodliness, worldly passions, and do our human best to live godly lives.
Putting off the things of this world, rejecting the ways of the world and our enemy… and choosing instead to live as God has invited us to live… In the Love and Grace which He has given us… shared with others.
And when we fail, as we will, His grace is sufficient to cleanse us from all unrighteousness… so we stand up and again, choose His way.
Father we cannot do anything good on our own, but we can do all things through Christ. Help us to live a life that honors You!
