The church

Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 1:22-23 And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, [23] which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

The church which is –

The church is: His body

The church is: the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

We all generally recognize that the church is His body, as it is taught elsewhere.  Christ is head and we are the body.  We are His hands and feet remaining here on this earth to do as He wills, we are to obey the Head and respond as He directs.  Partly analogy and partly literal, we are His body!

And not stopping there, we, the church, are the fullness of Him.  What?  How is this possible? Certainly, He is physically present with God and now eternally at His right hand.  How can we, the church, flawed as we are, be His fullness, filled with Him who fills all in all?  Is it possible that we are His fullness on this earth?

As with many of the deeper things of God, this is one of those mysteries.  The fact that we can’t understand it, can’t grasp the concept with our limited human mind… simply illustrates that God is bigger than our mind… He is infinitely beyond our capacity to understand or what our human logic can deal with.  We choose to believe through our Faith.  Of course, our minds, our thinking, plays a role, but at some point, we must acknowledge His superiority… else, why would we worship Him?  Why would we proclaim Him Lord, Savior, Master and King?

Lord You alone deserve all honor, all our worship.

You are worthy of my praise
