Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 1:26-27 “For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. [27] But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;”
God chose what is weak –
God always intentionally chose ordinary people. Even the disciplines Jesus chose were ordinary guys. Moses at 80 years old, when God spoke to him from a burning bush, claimed he couldn’t do it because he wasn’t an eloquent speaker…
Friends God uses us! Ordinary people! To do His will, to carry His message of Love, Hope and Salvation to this lost and dying world! The co-worker, the friend in trouble, your distant relative, the stranger you encounter today… all need the opportunity to hear the good news of God’s Love and grace… and God chooses… ordinary people… like you and me.
And He does this intentionally, 1 Corinthians 2:5 “so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” He doesn’t need us to have brilliant arguments of creationism vs evolution, or a simple answer to ‘why bad things happen to good people’ or anything at all but a willing servant’s heart… to share His Love with the starving, thirsty souls among us.
When we say “Yes, Lord”; He will do the rest.
What the Lord has done in me
