Today’s Encouragement is 2 Timothy 1:7 “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
God gave us a spirit –
The spirit which God gives His children is the Holy Spirit, a fullness of God Himself dwelling with us. It’s His gift to His children who believe in Christ. This Holy Spirit is described here as the spirit of Power, Love and Self-control. And not of fear!
We know that fear kills, cripples and destroys, and is used by our enemy to keep us weak and paralyzed. But the Spirit from God – His presence within us – is Power, Love & Self-control.
And so, my friends, without Him, without His Spirit abiding within us, of course, we have no chance for any significant Love, nor Power and nor any Self-control.
But – we can do all things through Christ! (Philippians 4:13), and His Spirit dwells within us!
