Today’s Encouragement is Deuteronomy 30:19b-20a “Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, [20] loving the LORD your God, obeying his voice and holding fast to him, for he is your life and length of days,”
Choose Life –
Choose loving and obeying God over fearing man.
Friends we are wise and blessed when we obey God’s word, fleeing the evil one, rejecting sin, serving others in love, living as He commands… (and remember His commands are not burdensome!) Jesus gave us new commands as He fulfilled the old Commands on our behalf… and His new command? It is – Love God with all that you are… and your neighbor as you love yourself.
When (it is possible that “only when”?) we have accepted God’s perfect, cleansing Grace for us, Then – we can begin to love ourselves as God loves us … and Then – we can truly love others.
And this, my friends, this – living our Life as we are loved by God, loving ourselves because He does, and loving others… This is choosing Life!
