Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.
Our words
This psalm, this song, is a prayer and plea. A request for God to transform our words and our thoughts into pure, God-pleasing, God-honoring words and thoughts.
God alone can transform, recreate, purify. And my friends, this transforming purifying is exactly what the blood of Jesus has done… has already done, His work, our purification from sin has -already- been done. Completed. ‘It is Finished’, He said.
And this is a mystery… We recognize, within ourselves, our true assessment, that our words and thoughts are not now pleasing to God… and Yet! The work, the redeeming purifying cleansing work of Jesus is perfectly completed… in us.
Is it possible that- When we love God, when we repent, when we desire to honor Him, when we love His people… when we express gratitude to Him, when we speak of God’s Love, Grace and Mercy to others… then our words and thoughts are indeed… pleasing to our Father.
Father God we pray to become all that would please You Lord. Grateful to our core for the gift of redemption of Jesus, we ask that You transform our words and thoughts to bring honor to You and joy to Your heart. And we accept the purification of the blood of Christ, filling what is lacking in us, to be your beloved children. Your mercy is indeed too wonderful to express.
