Today’s Encouragement is, “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” Philippians 2:1-2 NLT
Is there any –
This rhetorical question can make us stop and think.
Is there any:
Encouragement from belonging to Christ?
Comfort from the Love of Jesus?
Fellowship with our brothers and sisters and the Spirit of God?
Tenderness and compassion in our hearts?
Of course the answer is, ”Yes. Absolutely. There has to be!”
These results emerge from the life of a person who is surrendered to Christ. These are characteristics of the Reborn.
We rarely encounter them, so few people experience them or exhibit them. And yet, we all quickly acknowledge, “Yes, that’s what a believer looks like.”
Remember, there is no condemnation for us (Romans 8:1), but we are wise to look at ourselves and consider where we stand.
And when we fall short, see flaws in our character, and sense a calling to change, as believers, we can do so! We can ask God for everything we need (Philippians 4:6) and trust Him to provide.
Remember, He desires this for us: that His people will grow, mature spiritually, and exhibit the characteristics of a transformed life. And He alone can do this transforming work in us. We can ask Him and surrender to His work, but we cannot do anything without Him (John 15:5).
Thank You, Father, for showing us the way. Help us to surrender and accept the transformation work that You have planned for each of us, so that You will be glorified through us.
