Today’s Encouragement is, “So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.” 1 Corinthians 12:31 NLT
Best Of All –
Paul wrote extensively about spiritual gifts, then explaining how we believers comprise the body of Christ, which is the church, each having a function and a purpose. These are astounding truths, which we often take for granted. Then he adds this verse in conclusion and as an introduction to the next subject.
Let me show you –
A way of life –
That is best of all –
In comparison to the wonderful spiritual gifts God has given, in addition to His creatively gifting us with varied purposes to create His church, this way of life is Best!
And then He describes –
Love.
Love is:
Patient and kind.
Not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
Does not demand its own way.
Not irritable, keeps no record of being wronged, rejoices in the truth.
Never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and always endures. (from 13:4-7)
This way of life is Best of All!
Thank You, Father, that You love us. Thank You that You are Love (1 John 4:8)
