Pray For All

Today’s Encouragement is, “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.” 1 Timothy 2:1 NLT

Pray For All –

Really?  All people? Even our enemies? The annoying ones?  The selfish and mean ones? The abusers? The criminals? Political enemies? All?  Really? All people?    Yes!

Because …

“For this is how God loved – the world” John 3:16 NLT

“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!” Matthew 5:44 NLT

My friend, God alone does the saving work in the lives of others. Our role is to love them and pray for them.  We cannot “fix,” save, or control other people (we usually don’t do a very good job of controlling ourselves!), but just like you and I, they need God’s merciful guidance in their lives, and our prayer can open that door!

Remember that God’s Will is supreme.  Jesus Himself prayed, “Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Luke 22:42b NLT

When we pray for others, we can rest! We can be confident that God hears us and that He will do what is perfectly right for that person, at exactly the right time.

And don’t give up in prayer! “One day, Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.” Luke 18:1 NLT

Is it possible, my friend, that the absolute best thing that we can ever do for anyone is to pray for them?

Father God, thank You for the privilege of prayer. That we can come before You, Omnipotent Creator, and ask You to help us, and others…  We cannot thank You enough.
