Today’s Encouragement is, “For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes.” Galatians 3:26-27 NLT
United With Christ –
There is something about the simple act of putting on new clothes that affects us; somehow, it touches our hearts. We feel better, we see ourselves in a new light. We know we are still the same person, but somehow, new clothes make us seem better. This is a human analogy to help us understand a spiritual truth.
We have put on Christ (now, already)! All who have accepted Him as our Savior, Lord, and God and been baptized have been United with Him, connected permanently; we are (now, already) made one with Christ!
This is the current state of our being as God’s loved, accepted, chosen, and adopted people. We are now, and eternally, His children, His people, united with Christ, covered by Him, as if He is our clothing.
We don’t put on or take off this clothing. It is our new identity, given to us because we believe in Him.
Thank You, Father, for the innumerable ways in which You communicate to us the astounding Truth of our rebirth, from our earthly lost souls to the glorious privilege of being – United with Christ! Your Grace is unlimited!
