Today’s Encouragement is, “We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19 NLT
He Loved Us First –
God’s ways are much higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). And He is first in every way. And God acts, He loves, and extends His arms of mercy, BEFORE… we do. He loved us before we accepted Jesus as our Savior, while we were still sinners (Romans 5:8). He loved us first!
We want to love God, serve Him, and be worthy of His love, striving to be ‘good Christian men and women.’ However, we cannot truly love Him until we grasp the power of this truth: He loved us first! Jesus died to ransom us – Before we loved Him – Before we surrendered to Him!
Once we understand that He loved us – before we expressed our love for Him – then we can extend to others the Love which we have accepted from our Father. Only then do we have His love to share.
In all things, God is First!
Thank You, Father, for loving us. We realize we are incapable of loving anyone, others, You, even ourselves, without Your Love first filling and saving us. Help us, Lord, to – First, receive and accept Your Love, so that we can then love You, others, and ourselves.
I’ve Always Loved You
