We All Fall Short –
Far too frequently, we see in the news that another pastor or Christian leader has fallen and been accused, arrested, tried, and found guilty. But, aren’t we all guilty?
But wait, pastors, evangelists, missionaries? Yes!
Disappointing? Yes! Unexpected? No!! Re-read today’s verse. All!
You’ve heard it before: “Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven.” No one is perfect on this earth. But Jesus makes us perfect in God’s sight! (Hebrews 10:14). This is a spiritual state; being perfect in God’s eyes, even though quite imperfect in human terms.
The human spirit is incapable of perfection, except spiritually, by the blood of Christ, and this perfection exists only in God’s perfect, eternal, and omnipotent perspective! And honestly, what other perspective matters? Yours, mine, or theirs? Only God’s perspective is True, real, and eternal. And He says we’re forgiven, perfectly right, just like Adam and Eve before the Fall.
A sinner pastors every church. A sinner leads every song. A sinner fills every seat.
We all have sinned. (Romans 3:23)
We are all saved by grace. (Ephesians 2:8)
No one is righteous. (Ecclesiastes 7:20)
Please don’t forget this! Don’t allow human emotions of respect and love to cloud your heart and mind. Even Paul confessed, ‘I am the chief of sinners!’ (1 Timothy 1:15).
When we look to a church, a pastor, a TV minister, a worship leader, any human being at all! We will be disappointed!
Only Jesus! Only He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life! (John 14:6)
Father God, help us not to follow any human being, but only Jesus!
