Today’s Encouragement is, “You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.” Matthew 21:22
Pray For Anything –
I confess, I often act as if I don’t believe this! And, I admit, that is a lack of faith; more accurately, it is faithlessness, or even unfaithfulness.
In my defense, I want to add quickly, “But I do have faith in God! I do trust Him to do what He chooses! I believe in Him; in His Goodness and Kindness and His never-ending Love!”
Rereading Jesus’ words in the previous verse (21), “If you have faith AND don’t doubt.” He mentions two related conditions. Have faith plus no doubt. Is it possible that my faith is mixed with doubt? In honesty, I again confess, my faith is often tainted by doubt!
I quickly remind myself that there is no condemnation for those who believe (2 Corinthians 5:17), that faith is a gift (Ephesians 2:8), and that only He can increase it (Luke 17:5).
So, I accept this Truth: Faith without Doubt can accomplish great things, even miraculous things, anything! Jesus said it, and I choose to believe Him!
We “can pray for anything,” wealth, health, and power, but – the greatest miracle of all is this – forgiveness of sin, rebirth into a new creation, and eternal life – all by believing in Jesus as the Son of God. There is no greater miracle.
Father, we continue to pray, in the measure of faith we have, great or small, for Your salvation of our families, friends, and those You have gathered into our lives. For this, we pray in Jesus’ Name.
