The Spirit Gives You Life –
We love them! Books, TV shows, and movies about ‘superheroes!’ Heros are a part of every culture! Often, there is an ‘explanation,’ a story of how the otherwise ordinary person becomes an extraordinary superhero. A radioactive spider bite, an accident in a laboratory, some mad scientist’s experience, the imagination runs wild. And it’s all fantasy… isn’t it?
What if? Is it possible that?
Could there be an element of eternal, spiritual truth in these fantastic fantasy stories?
We don’t need a costume, to drink the magic elixir, or have any other external transformative experience because – we are filled with the Spirit of God! The Spirit of Power. The Spirit of Life!
“Wait, I can acknowledge this intellectually, but superpowers?” This is just an analogy!
Our shared human nature can be beautiful and powerful, but we must be honest; it is very flawed. God knows this and has provided us with a solution: First, the Grace and Forgiveness by faith in Jesus, and also… a ‘superpower’ of sorts, not by accident, but by His Good Intention. He has chosen us and given us the free gift of His Spirit. The Spirit of Life!
Here are a few of our ‘superpowers’ given through the presence of the Holy Spirit within us:
Immortality – Eternal Life (John 3:16)
Power (Acts 1:8)
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22)
Thank You, Father, for the amazing gift of eternal life, forgiveness, and Your Holy Spirit. Help us continue to grow in awareness of Your Presence within us.
