Today’s Encouragement is, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 NLT
Fix your thoughts –
Our thoughts and managing those thoughts… are our responsibility! We are advised to “fix your thoughts” on good, pure, and excellent things.
What we think about determines our beliefs, and we are, sadly, very easily deceived people. We might not want to admit it, but we have all fallen prey to wrong thinking, which leads to wrong beliefs and, finally, to wrong actions. It’s an inevitable spiral into failure.
But the opposite is true also!
We can fight this negative thought spiral! We can counteract it by ensuring that our minds and thoughts are true, pure, and full of God’s Truth, His Goodness, and His Love…. This is our response to, and our defense against, the lies and deception of this world and our enemy.
So think about, and fix your mind on worthy things, things that are excellent and worthy of praise! What does that mean to you?
Father God, we can do nothing without You! Help us fix our thoughts on You, Your truth, promises, blessings, and Your immeasurable Love for us.
