Today’s Encouragement is, “You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” Isaiah 26:3 NLT
What are our thoughts fixed on? What are we preoccupied with, concerned about, and always thinking about? Our minds are ours to manage… we can let them run wild, or we can direct, manage, and control the mind, thoughts, and imagination.
Now, we do nothing perfectly, but “nobody’s perfect” is a weak and childish response to a lack of maturity and self-discipline. Remember, we can do nothing without Jesus (John 15:5), but we can do all things through Him (Phil 4:13).
So, fixing our thoughts on God (Is 26:3), remembering Him (Luke 22:19), staying aware of His Presence (Psalm 139:7), praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), singing His praises (Psalm 84:4), always giving thanks (Ephesians 5:20)… brings us to His promised Perfect Peace!
Please note that there is no time requirement to fix our thoughts on Him. He does not say, “If you think about God for 3 hours (days, minutes, or seconds), then you will experience His Perfect Peace.”
And His Perfect Peace is available to all His people who are chosen, adopted, dearly loved, forgiven, and made holy by faith in Jesus. He wants us to experience, know, and enjoy His Perfect Peace.
Also, this Perfect Peace is inexplicable. It is beyond our problems, circumstances, and even our understanding. It makes no sense to the human mind. “Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT
Father God, I ask You to help me fix my thoughts on You so I can know Your Perfect Peace.
Perfect Peace
