Today’s Encouragement is, “Timothy, I thank God for you-the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.” 2 Timothy 1:3 NLT
Constantly Remember –
Prayer is the perfect way to remember another person. Paul, the wise mentor, tells his younger student, Timothy, that he prays for him constantly and every time he remembers him.
We may think about other people occasionally, and our thoughts are filled with love, gratitude, hope, or concern. But without prayer, those thoughts are impotent! All the good thoughts we could have for another are vapor, fleeting, and useless! But… one word of prayer… and we both become connected to God’s infinite power and love.
Prayer connects both the person praying and the person prayed for to Almighty God, the Source of Life!
It is no small matter! It is eternally significant! Nothing we could do, say, think, or cause to occur is more powerful, meaningful, and effective than prayer, in faith, to God, in Jesus’ Name!
We pray in faith, trusting God to do what is needed, right, and appropriate… He knows and always does what is best!
We may grow impatient, expecting Him to do what we’ve prayed – now! But His wisdom and timing are perfect; we cannot manipulate Him, but we can always… constantly remember others in prayer.
Lord God, help us constantly remember to pray for the needs of others (and our own) in confidence, hope, and faith that You will do exactly what is needed at precisely the right time. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
In Jesus’ Name
