Look Up

Today’s Encouragement is, “I look up to the mountains- does my help come from there? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth!” Psalm 121:1-2 NLT

Look up –

We say, “Things are looking up!”  “He can’t see the forest for the trees.” “I’m looking forward to it.” “Open your eyes!”  The connection between our eyes and our attitude, outlook, perspective, and worldview is ubiquitous. Most of the words even contain the linkage: sight, look, view.

So, what are you looking at? Staring at the four walls? The trouble all around you? The illness, despair, grief, ‘man’s inhumanity to man,’ what do you see?

Is it possible my friend, that a simple phrase can change your perspective?

“Look up!” Tilt your head up, a little bit more, more. There, do you see?

The cares of this life, worries, needs, problems, trials, and troubles… are very real; we are not talking about denial or oblivion. Instead, our sight, our vision, determines our direction, attitude, perspective, and outlook – our worldview.

We who choose to believe in God, who choose faith in Christ as our only salvation, can – Look Up!  We can Look Up to God, His power, grace, and Love.  His promises, the future, and His ultimate victory for each of His people.

Look Up – look to Jesus – see God’s deliverance, protection, and unimaginable blessings that await us.

Father God, we need You for everything.  Even for this simple act of lifting our gaze from the difficulties of earthly life to take in the immensity of the heavens, we need You. Help us to Look Up.  And to see You.

I Fix My Eyes On You
