Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 (NLT)
Let God –
Interesting how this is phrased… ‘Let God.’ We are each given free will and choose to surrender our will to God (to Let God) or retain control of our own will. Remember Jesus surrendering His own will to God in the garden the night he was arrested, “Not my will, but Yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42)
Notice also that God does this transformation (it’s His work in us… not our work!), and He does this by changing our minds! Even changing/transforming ‘the way you think’… not only the thoughts but also the process – ‘the way’… And He does this so we can learn His good, pleasing, and perfect Will. God desires us to Know His Will! And only through our transformation can we come to this!
So, when we “Let God” do His work in us, the result of this transformation is that we learn to know God’s Will for us!
Father, we desire this transformation, for our minds to be renewed and reformed so that we will not be conformed to this world but instead be transformed by You to know Your Perfect Will.
