Ask For Anything

Today’s Encouragement is, [Jesus said,] “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!” John 14:13-14 NLT

Ask For Anything –

Why doesn’t God answer our prayers like he said he would? My friend, He does! The Bible says he does. But we often don’t see or hear His answer because we expect only what we want!

We must adjust our thinking to align with Biblical truth rather than trying to adjust the Bible to our experience, thoughts, and feelings. This is the route of the believer—His will and His truth, not ours!

So, if God always hears and answers our prayer, why does it often seem that he isn’t answering, that He is silent?

When we ask someone for something, they then have three choices (God has unlimited options because He isn’t limited by our understanding or our human logic!)

The (human) logical thought is: one can say “Yes, No, not yet, or maybe.”  What other responses would be possible? None – from our human understanding.

God is not a magic genie who grants our every wish (prayer). His will and wisdom are infinitely greater and more perfect than ours.

We all want to hear the “yes” answer! But many of our prayers are selfish, greedy, petty, and ultimately harmful to us… God doesn’t answer “yes” to prayers that harm His children. More to come in the next few days…

Help us, Father, to understand prayer correctly, how to approach You in prayer, and how to hear Your response to our Prayers. Help us have sincere Faith in You, which is unlimited by Your responses to our prayers.
