Set The Mind

Today’s Encouragement is, “For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”  Romans 8:6 ESV

Set the mind – 

We do this… we set our minds on something, to something; it’s our decision, our actions.   We determine what we think about (set our minds on). 

“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2 ESV

Absolute Truth – To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.  Setting our minds on anything else… is death! 

Black or white. No other options. And we each decide, Flesh or Spirit.  We have this choice! And we choose life and peace when we accept Christ as Savior and Lord, then the Spirit of God comes to live within us. He resides, dwells, and remains.  We can listen to him, follow His leading, guidance, and inclination… or not. 

Now, as long as we live in this world (which is not very long at all in the light of our eternal life), we are still flesh. We live with our flesh, its mortal nature, weaknesses and strengths, limitations, and its proclivity to sin. 

Yet, we have a Savior who knows our weaknesses! And He has provided abundantly, given Himself, for our forgiveness! 

Father God, I’m grateful that Your Holy Spirit is living in me today and always will!  I choose to let Your Spirit control my mind; You will lead me to life and peace. Please guide me, speak to me, correct me, strengthen me, uphold me; I ask in Jesus’ Name.
