What Joy!

Today’s Encouragement is, “What joy for those who can live in your house, always singing your praises.” Psalm 84:4 NLT

What Joy –  

We don’t speak much about Joy, do we?  Wonder why. 

This verse speaks of joy, living in God’s house, and singing His praises.  These are connected related concepts.  

Do you want Joy?  I certainly do! But how does one live in God’s house? Do we move into the nearest church building? That might get a little crowded!  The word translated here as house is often considered as household.  As His sons and daughters, when we come into His house, in this sense, it’s like coming home.  A home where we don’t need to knock because we are family… it’s our home, and we are always welcome and free to enter His household!  So, in this sense, living in God’s household, we are near Him, insiders; we are close. And nearness to God brings Joy!  

And filled with His Joy, because of our nearness to Him, we will naturally sing His praises – always. 

Think of the modern use of this phrase, “I was so proud of my son that I was always singing his praises to everyone.”  in this sense, we speak well of God, His love and goodness – all the time!  

Want Joy? – stay near God, live in His Presence, and always sing His Praises!

Thank You, our kind and loving Father, that we can always remain in Your presence, praising You in every way, including singing, 

Bring us closer to You; give us Your Joy.
