Today’s Encouragement is, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Romans 12:2 NLT
Let God transform you –
Don’t we all want to know God’s will? His will for us is ‘good, pleasing and perfect!’
Friends, this comes about as a process that God Himself manages… as He transforms us into new people! It’s His work to transform us. Our own efforts at transformation are usually short-lived, half-hearted attempts to ‘do better,’ ‘get my life right,’ ‘clean up my act,’ etc. A good try, maybe, but unless God is doing the transformation, you and I will make a mess of it! (Apart from Me, you can do nothing! John 15:5b)
Our part, friends, is, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world.” This ‘world’ with its behavior and customs is corrupt and dying. We can live as ambassadors of Christ, freed from the behavior and customs of this decaying world culture… as we allow God to transform us!
As we turn away from this world, in faith, to Our God, then we allow Him to transform us… by changing the way we think! And friend, this transformation is the same word used in Matthew 17:2 NLT “…Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.”
This is the type of complete transformation that God is doing within us! And then we will know His good and perfect will for us! What a wonderful, merciful God we serve!
