Today’s Encouragement is, “Yes, I am the gate. Those who come in through me will be saved. They will come and go freely and will find good pastures. The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:9-10 NLT
A Rich and Satisfying Life –
Did Jesus ever fail? Since we believe that He didn’t, He has (already) fulfilled His purpose and given us a rich and satisfying life.
His example is sheep, a shepherd, a gate, and good pastures. Remember Psalm 23? He is our Good Shepherd (v11) and provides everything we need. Protection is in the sheep pen behind the gate that He guards. Good pastures are where we are nourished and can rest without fear because He is watching over all of His own (v14).
And in all that Jesus does for us, His followers, His “sheep,” His “own,” His purpose is to give us “a rich and satisfying life!”
As we surrender ourselves to God through faith in Jesus, He becomes our source of all good things. We can rely on Him to provide everything we need, just as sheep depend entirely upon their shepherd. Our Good Shepherd gives us a rich and satisfying life!
Father, thank You for Jesus and for the rich and satisfying life He has given us. Open our eyes to the wonderful green pastures where Jesus has led us.
Psalm 23
