Today’s Encouragement is, “And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” Mark 4:20 NLT
Hear And Accept –
Many people heard Jesus’ preaching. In the Bible, we read that he often preached to thousands! All these came to ‘hear’ Him and probably to see Him perform some miracles. These people all heard the same messages that you and I read in the Bible… yet only a few could accept His teaching. He often said many heard but didn’t understand (Mark 4:12) or accept.
The seed in this parable planted in the good soil produced a great harvest… because they heard – and they also accepted!
This parable, Mark 4:13-20, also describes the obstacles to acceptance: Satan snatches the truth, people hear but soon fall away because of trouble or persecution, or the cares of this world choke out the Truth.
Accepting the Truth of God’s Word is a decision we each make. It requires faith and persistence. So, don’t quit. Never Give up! Luke 18:1 NLT “One day, Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and – Never Give Up.”
Father God, we are grateful to be Your people who hear and accept Your Truth. Help us to continue to Hear and Accept what You are saying to Your people, always!
