Called You By Name –
In the wonderful series, The Chosen, at the beginning of the first episode, the father of Mary Magdalene, when she was a child, teaches her this verse. He asks her, “What do we do when we are afraid?” “We say the words”, she responds, and together they speak this verse, God’s word.
I won’t spoil it for those who haven’t yet seen this wonderful series… but the ending of this episode is so very beautiful, and ties in this verse so wonderfully.
God, as Father, Son, and Spirit… knows your name!
He knows everything about you… the good, the bad, and even the unimaginable beauty of who you are becoming in Christ! He knows our future! Because we have been cleansed by Jesus, He doesn’t see our sinful nature… not at all, not even a stain or scar! He sees us now, already, Perfected in Christ! And He sees the person we are becoming!!! The person He is creating within us…
He’s that ‘aware’, involved, interested, dedicated, and focused… in you and me…
He knows our name… and He calls us His!
And… He speaks these words to you and me and all who trust Him:

Are…
Mine!
Father, we are overwhelmed by the Love You have poured out and are still pouring into us. Help us to recognize, realize, and accept Your amazing Love – for each of us – individually!
