Today’s Encouragement is Numbers 6:22-26 NLT Then the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons to bless the people of Israel with this special blessing: ‘May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.’”
The Lord Bless You –
God told Moses to tell Aaron, who was the High Priest and his sons, who were also the priests to speak this blessing to His people. Many pastors over the years, and still today, end the worship service with this blessing.
The Amplified Bible provides additional definition of the original Hebrew (OT) or Greek (NT) language. It is often useful in understanding God’s word.
Rather than my explanation, here is the expanded, the Amplified version of this passage, “The LORD bless you, and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you]; The LORD make His face shine upon you [with favor], And be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness]; The LORD lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval], And give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].”
Beautiful, isn’t it? And this, my friend, is God’s own word for your life! His Heart! His plan! For all His people. For all time.
This is our God’s heart for us!!! Blessing!!!
Father, Your love for us far exceeds our capacity to understand… yet as much (or as little) as we do comprehend… we thank You for loving us and for blessing us.
The Blessing
