Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 3:18b NLT And the Lord-who is the Spirit-makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
More like Him –
Is it possible that some of us are stuck asking God to do… what He has already done? And further, because we are ‘stuck’, we are not able to grow, to change, to become what He has planned for us?
Stay with me for a minute more. Could we be ‘stuck’ in continuously asking God to forgive us of our sin…. Friend, He’s ALREADY done that!
We only need to accept His forgiveness, to acknowledge that we don’t deserve it, and be grateful for it. Christ died for all sinners and those who believe in Him have complete forgiveness! There is no need to ‘beg God for forgiveness’ after we become believers! Because He Already Has!
What we do need to recognize, as believers… is that we are growing in faith. This verse explains that we become more and more like Him… as we are changed! God does this, “the Lord makes us…”! Our part is to acknowledge it, accept it, and express gratitude…
And as we mature in Faith, becoming more like Him, the fruits of our lives become different from those who are of the world, Galatians 5:22-23a NLT “But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” This is becoming More Like Him!
Thank You Father for your amazing plan for us, that we might become More Like Jesus! We accept Your plan Father, do Your will in our lives, we ask in Jesus’ Name.
