Today’s Encouragement is John 16:12 NLT There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now.
So Much More –
Jesus spoke to his disciples on the night he was arrested in one final amazing message recorded for you and me in John 14-17. And here He says, “You aren’t ready yet, for everything that I want to tell you!”
What? Did you hear that? Jesus taught so much in His 3 years of earthly ministry, and yet… He said, as He was leaving… “there’s so much more!”
So how will He teach us all that He wants to tell us? The next verse reveals His plan…
John 16:13 NLT “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future.”
Hey, I didn’t make this up! These are Jesus’ words!
My friend, our God is without limitation! Even the Bible, as thorough, comprehensive, and complete as it is… cannot limit God! Now, nothing God says or does will contradict the truth He has provided to us in the Bible… Yet our God is not ‘contained’ in the Bible.
But these are His words… “There is so much more!” This concept of ‘more’ is alluded to in both John 21:25 and Revelation 10:4.
One final thought… We live in this time of “So Much More”.
Thank You Father, for the Truth You have already revealed to us! Grant us a growing understanding, faith and acceptance. And open our hearts to what You still have for us through Your Holy Spirit.
