Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 43b:1-3a NLT Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.
Do Not Be Afraid –
How many times do we need to hear before we believe?
Hundreds of times in God’s Word, we read… Don’t Be Afraid!
And this must be our decision my friend, we choose to trust God, believe His Word, rely on His Truth, or we can choose Fear. Faith and Fear are polar opposites.
Notice the same truth in John 14:27 ESV “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
Let not… we choose my friend, to let our hearts be afraid and troubled… or to not let, not allow our hearts to be troubled and afraid!
Easy to say, right? But How?
1. (always first) Pray! Ask God for help with everything you need!
2. Decide! Choose how you will live and ask God to strengthen your resolve. 2 Timothy 1:7 ESV “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
3. Renew this decision moment by moment. Each time you find yourself fallen into fear, as has been the pattern of your past, decide to turn from it to Faith. Pray at that moment. Proclaim to the Fear, “I don’t accept you; I choose Faith in Jesus. And I am no longer a slave to Fear!”
Father God, You have saved us to eternal life! Thank You! Please help us to choose to become free from fear and its destructive force in our lives.
No Longer Slaves
