Who Have Not Seen

Today’s Encouragement is John 20:29 ESV Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Who Have Not Seen –

This is you and me – friend!  We are those who have not seen Jesus! Not with our eyes… not in the flesh… and yet… we believe!  Jesus calls us Blessed!

We tend to consider the disciples very blessed to have spent those years with Him, hearing His words, seeing His miracles, experiencing His presence… and certainly they were… but here Jesus draws a distinction between them and us… and refers to us as being Blessed!

The word translated as blessed can also be interpreted as “happy, to be envied, or fortunate.”  This is how He describes you and me!  Because we believe but have not seen… at least, not yet!  One day we will see Him, face to face!

Today we live by faith, not by sight.  Faith is stronger, greater than sight… spiritually.  Hebrews 11:1 ESV “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”

And we are blessed because we believe, although we have not seen…

at least… not yet.

Father God, we thank You for clearly teaching us how blessed we are, even though we have not yet seen Jesus, we believe.

Those who have not seen
