Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.
So that We can –
We are the recipients of God’s Love… and as a result, we can love others. (1 John 4:19) This is our proper response and is the fulfillment of the two new commands from Jesus, Love God, and Love Others (Matt. 22:37-39).
And in the same way, when we need comfort, when we are troubled, God provides that comfort, as He does everything we need (2 Peter 1:3) and He does so – “so that we can” share – this God-given Comfort with others.
This same ‘exchange’ occurs with forgiveness, He offers, we accept, and we then share the forgiveness we’ve received from God with those who wrong us. (Matt. 18:32-33)
It is the same pattern as with all His gifts to us. First, He extends the good and perfect gift (Jas. 1:17), and we accept and receive His blessings, then from the overflow of His Grace, Love, and Comfort, we can share His blessings with others.
God gives, we accept, and we share.
My friends, this is a description of a life filled with, and overflowing with, God’s blessings, where the fruits of His Spirit (Gal. 5:22) are obvious.
Father God, Thank You for the beautiful pattern of blessings which You have created. Help us to recognize, accept, and then to share the untold blessings which You pour out on Your people so that we are aligned with Your will.
