Today’s Encouragement is 2 Peter 1:4 NLT And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
Great and precious promises-
He has (already) given us His great and precious promises! The Word of God is full of wonderful promises, which chose to believe, to trust, to rely on. Some promises we recognize are fulfilled, and some we understand are not yet… but they are still the great, and precious, promises of our God to us!
These wonderful truths of what will be- are given to us because God is Good! In His Glory and His Excellence… He gives us wonderful gifts… these great and precious promises…
And notice carefully my friends, the effect of God’s great and precious promises in our lives… they enable us to “share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.” God’s promises do this!
His great and precious promises are what bring us to Him, to share His divine nature (become like Christ)! And to escape from sin… because we choose, to believe, His great and precious promises to us!
And His greatest promise? Everlasting life! Because of His Love and our belief! John 3:16 NLT “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
Thank You Father, for your promises; help us continue in faith, to trust You, to believe You, and to be transformed by Your promises!
