Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 4:7 NLT “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.”
Love comes from God –
Friends we know that the Love of God, which He has for us, and with which we love each other is a divine Love, in the Greek, Agape. This is distinguished from our common use (abuse) of the word ‘love’ in our everyday conversation.
This Agape Love, more fully defined in 1 Corinthians 13, is perfect and selfless, expects nothing in return; this Love comes from God. And with this Love, once we have received it, recognized, and embraced His Love, we then can and do appropriately love others. And this Love distinguishes us as His children, as we Love others with His Agape Love.
Lord help us to accept and reflect Your Love to others, we all need Your Love so desperately, even more than life itself.
