Today’s Encouragement is Luke 7:9 “Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, ‘I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.’”
Jesus marveled –
Marveled? Other translations use the words, amazed, surprised, taken aback…
Not certain but I think this could be the only place where Jesus was so very impressed by anything.
Why?
This man was a Roman, not an Israelite, who had great Faith, who had built the synagogue (v5) in Capernaum.
This Roman soldier had the deep faith to say to Jesus, “If You just say the word, my servant will be healed.”
Notice also this powerful Roman commander, did not ask Jesus for help or healing for himself or even his own family, but for his servant!
And my friends, when he witnessed such a deep faith… Jesus marveled; He was amazed.
Father God, please grant to us, Your sons and daughters, such a sincere faith in the Love and Power of Jesus.
