Today’s Encouragement is, “You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.” 1 Peter 1:8 NLT
Even Though –
Our Faith in Christ, in God the Father, and His Holy Spirit is far more precious than mere gold (v7). And our Love for God, only possible when we have first accepted His Perfect Love for us (1 John 4:19), is our appropriate response to His Love for us.
This Love and this Faith are supernatural. It makes no sense in this natural world; it resides above the natural world of sight, sound, and science. This earthly matter is real, and our bodies exist in this earthly realm, but this isn’t all that exists!
Because we believe in Jesus, we acknowledge the existence of a supernatural realm where He reigns eternally. Our spiritual “eyes” can envision this, although only to a very limited degree.
But we Love Him – Even Though we have never seen Him! And we choose by faith to trust Him! Most of us, most of the time, can say, “Yes, that is what I want to do, I try!” Now my friend, please don’t stop there, read on…
“And you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.”
Not feeling it? Nonetheless, it is available to us… by the same Love of God and Faith in Him – we can rejoice with inexpressible Joy!
Father God, help us focus on Your perfect Love for us, the blessings we have now, and the blessings that You have promised us, and to experience Your inexpressible Joy!
