Today’s Encouragement is “We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:19 NLT
He Loved Us First –
(This concludes our focus on God’s Love in 1 John 4)
These four words change everything. First, He loved you and me. Even before we were born. It isn’t a general “God Loves Everyone” type of Love, but a specific knowledge.
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13 NLT
“But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace.” Galatians 1:15a NLT
Remember “God so Loved the World” (John 3:16)? Was it only the people alive at the time of Jesus’ earthly life that God loved? Certainly not, His Love includes those not yet born… like you and me.
Only an all-knowing God, unlimited in every aspect, could know us, choose us, and Love us… before we existed! He has chosen You! And He Loves You!
Once we embrace the immeasurable Love of God for us, accept it, we are then filled with His Perfect Love. His Love then permeates our hearts and lives to the extent that His Perfect Love flows into us and then out of us to others. It is impossible to stop, it cannot be faked, it is as natural as water pouring into a pitcher and overflowing when filled.
We.
Love.
Each other.
Because
He loved us
First.
Father God, for Your Love… so Perfect, True, Unlimited, Undeserved, and beyond all measure… we Thank You. Help us to fully embrace Your Perfect Love, so that it will overflow our lives to those around us.
