Love Grows More Perfect –
What? Our love… can grow… to be… more perfect?
We readily accept the beautiful idea of the loving elderly couple, whose love has grown deeper throughout the years of their marriage. It’s a heartwarming and priceless thought.
So, isn’t it reasonable that our love, which comes from God – through us – to others – and to Him… can also grow?
And this God-Love, infinitely greater than human-love, begins when we accept, acknowledge, and embrace His Perfect Love for us. Since His Love is, has to be, Perfect in every aspect, then we must accept the truth that… God’s perfect Love, flowing through us, to others and back to Him… remains Perfect!
His Love… is untainted by our imperfect humanity. Seems impossible, doesn’t it? We are fragile and imperfect, like clay jars (2 Corinthians 4:7), and yet we convey His Perfect Love. And if the clay jars of our human flesh could contaminate God’s love, which would be the greater power? No, my friend, God’s Love is His power! And our Love grows more perfect as we live in Him!
We are flawed human vessels of clay, so we do not convey His perfect Love perfectly… but as we dwell in Him, choosing daily, moment by moment to live in Christ, our Love Grows More Perfect!
Thank You, Father, for Your Word. You teach us your Truth according to Your wisdom of our ability to accept it. Help us to grow more perfect in Love as we abide in You.
