Today’s Encouragement is, “We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 1 John 4:16 NLT
Our Trust In His Love –
We have many options. We can choose to put our trust in many different things. We could choose to trust a religion, Mother Nature, the wisdom of this or that teacher, philosopher, or scientist. We could choose to trust ourselves, our intuition, intellect, or logical reasoning. We could choose to trust in our wealth, our beauty, our hopes for the future, or the pleasures of our past. The variety is unlimited.
Yet as believers in Christ, as followers of Jesus, we can only be fulfilled, upheld, and secured when we put – Our Trust in His Love.
Nothing else will do.
The wise teacher of Ecclesiastes explored all these other options and found them all meaningless!
When we come to accept and understand by faith how much God loves us, we are compelled to put our trust in Him, rely on Him, and rest in Him for our every need.
And because He IS Love, we can choose to live in His Love (to accept and embrace it), and then God Himself lives in us. His Love changes everything.
Father, there are no words to express our gratitude. We long to fully trust You, so that we live in You and You live in us.
