Today’s Encouragement is, “This is real love-not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” 1 John 4:10 NLT
Real Love –
God’s Perfect Love is not like our human love. It is immeasurably more beautiful, stronger, and purer. We are made in His image, but He is infinitely higher than us in every way. His ways and His thoughts are beyond our comprehension. (Isaiah 55:8-9)
And God’s Perfect Love is Real Love! Our love for God, the absolute best any human can love God, is not even comparable to God’s Real love for us! “Not that we loved Him, but that He loved us!”
And His Real Love is perfectly expressed through Jesus! So that we can, by faith in Jesus, be forever cleansed, freed, and removed from our sins.
We often idolize human love; it’s considered the way to happiness, to bliss… but, my friend, God’s truth says it isn’t Real Love. Only His is! Our love is a wonderful gift; it is truly the greatest thing in this world (1 Corinthians 13:13), but ours is flawed, imperfect, and too often self-centered. In stark contrast, God’s love is centered on you and me because we trust in Jesus.
Jesus is the only pathway for God’s Real and Perfect Love to reach you and me. And when it does… when we believe this by faith, we recognize and understand that we are truly – Perfectly – Loved.
Thank You, Father, for Your Real Love, perfectly expressed through Jesus.
