Today’s Encouragement is, “God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.” 1 John 4:9 NLT
God Showed –
Jesus’ birth, life, teaching, miracles, death, burial, resurrection, and ascension… had one overriding purpose. “God showed how much he loved us.”
Jesus accomplished immeasurably more than we can enumerate here, including the way of Salvation by Grace, and yet, the summation of the good news, the entire message, the reason for Jesus, is – “God showed how much he loved us.”
God chose.
To reveal.
To all mankind.
The unlimited,
Eternal,
Infinite, and
Perfect
Love.
Jesus.
Because God earnestly desires for you and me to Know – “How much He Loved us!”
As humans, when we love someone, we desperately long for them to know and understand how much we love them. Yet we are too often hurt by our love for others. It’s not returned, appreciated, or it may be abused or even despised.
And we respond to God’s Perfect Love in these same ways!
Yet, God is Perfect in Love! He doesn’t get hurt feelings and pout. He patiently watches and waits for us to accept His Perfect Love. We accept and embrace His Love by believing in His Perfect Son, the messenger of God’s Love.
Father, thank You for Jesus! And for Your merciful forgiveness for our repeated failure to recognize the Perfect Love which you have shown us. We choose, now, to accept Your Perfect Love by believing in Jesus.
