Today’s Encouragement is, “Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7 NLT
Love Comes From God-
Since we now understand that God IS Love, we can now explore a few of the implications of this essential truth.
Since God is Love, and since He is the Creator, Designer, and Architect of all things, He has caused Love to be the supreme good in all of Creation. “Every good and perfect gift comes from God” (James 1:17). And Love is the greatest Gift! All our literature and entertainment is centered on human love; it is the driving force of successful marriages and all relationships.
Of course, we distort and pervert it, as we do everything, but God isn’t affected by our actions, good or bad; His Love continues unabated.
So, we have the incredible opportunity to love each other! And we have the ability to do this (we do nothing perfectly) because we have accepted God’s Love and His Love resides, dwells, and remains within us!
When we understand and accept the immeasurable Love that God has for us, His adopted children, we can then share this unlimited Love with others.
Father, first we thank You for Your Perfect Love! Help us to be so filled by Your Love that we can love the people around us, even those who don’t deserve it, for we certainly do not.
