The Word Of Life

Today’s Encouragement is, “We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.” 1 John 1:1 NLT

The Word of Life –

Jesus is described in many wonderful ways in the Bible.  John describes Him as The Word in his gospel (John 1:1) and again in this first letter.  

Why is Jesus the Word?  

What difference does it make to me in this day?

Is it possible that the idea of The Word has many connotations? Most biblical truths do, the message of God to humanity presented by the Bible is living and alive, effective and exceptional, powerfully true and spiritually supernatural.  It is no ordinary book. He is no ordinary word.  He is The Word! 

Authoritative, Final, Complete and most difficult to fathom, Alive! 

Of Life- 

We know Jesus was killed and resurrected and rose (ascended) to heaven as a living being ( more than just a living person, infinitely more).

So Jesus, who is described as the Word of God, is still (and forever) Living.  He is The Word of Life! 

The Word – 

Jesus is God’s perfect message (His Word) to us, to the world, all humanity for all time.  Jesus came to show us how to live, how to honor and love God and to love each other.  He came to bring us the Truth, about God, life, death, eternity, forgiveness, mercy, sin, grace, and… everything! 

Then,

 He died for us! 

Bought our forgiveness, and 

Secured our eternal home. 

He truly is The Word of Life! 

Thank You Father for Your Word of Life, Jesus.  Thank You for Your Perfect Plan for us.  Help us clearly understand the enormity of Your gift of – The Word of Life!
