Today’s Encouragement is, “Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously.” Isaiah 55:7 NLT
Turn To God –
“For He will forgive generously!”
My friend, our shame, guilt, and remorse do not move the heart of God. Even the evil-hearted one senses these natural responses to wrong. But this wicked, sinful, selfish, hard-hearted soul (you and I) can still choose to – Turn to God. And when they do, God has mercy on them, and He will forgive generously!
Anyone can choose to – Turn to God.
This “Turning” is a key concept, one we need to acknowledge.
Obviously, we move in the direction we face. If we realize we need to go another direction, another way (as in ‘change my ways’), or take another proverbial path in life… we must Turn!
The well-worn ‘old saw’ says, “Insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results.”
The biblical term for this “turning” is repentance. And it applies to anyone at any time. Believers and non-believers. This involves turning away from our old ways, our sinful nature, and destructive habits, and instead turning to God. And as we turn from our sin, and turn to Him, He forgives generously. And He then begins our transformation! (Romans 12:2)
So, Turn! When we turn to Him, He takes over, and then, He turns it around!
Thank You Father, that when we turn to you, accepting Jesus as our Lord, You forgive generously! We are lost without You and Your forgiveness, Lord. Help us continue to Turn to You.
