Today’s Encouragement is, “He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” Hebrews 9:28b NLT
Eagerly Waiting –
That’s us! We are the people who have been saved by faith in Jesus. Our sin has already been dealt with, forgiven, and completely destroyed by His blood, His sacrificial death. That is finished! (John 19:30)
But Jesus isn’t finished with us yet!
We still struggle in this life! We believe in Jesus; we are saved, new creations, reborn, set free, and adopted into the family of God! All this is true and now and real!
Yet, there is still pain; we still struggle with faith, doubt, questions, illness, sorrow, and the reality of evil. This is the evidence of the fallen nature of this world we live in, which continues to try to tempt us to turn away from our hope, to embrace the despair of this life, this world, and its inevitable decay.
But it’s not over! Jesus is returning! We don’t need to know when! And when He does, we will be saved, rescued, removed, and freed from this world and its impurity!
We are those who are eagerly awaiting the return of Christ, who will save us from this fallen world!
Whether by His return or by our natural passage from this earthly place to our eternal home, we will see the world fade away, and we will be saved!
Father, we do, eagerly wait for Jesus’ return. You have created this longing within us for freedom from this life and for intimate fellowship with You. We eagerly wait!
