Today’s Encouragement is, “But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.” Psalm 59:16 NLT
But As For Me –
David writes about the stress he is under. His King and father-in-law, Saul, intended to kill him. David was surrounded by evil and bloodthirsty men (v1)! They returned night after night to watch for an opportunity to kill him (v6).
David sees the danger, and he writes (for us) of this intense experience. It’s honest, terrifying, and life-threatening! And in the throes of expressing such immense hopelessness… he writes this about Hope!
“But As For Me! I will sing about my God, His Power, and Love! He is my refuge, safety, and my hope!”
We know now what David only knew then by his faith, that God would surely rescue him, miraculously and repeatedly!
So, as for us – In the midst of our despair, we can choose to turn to hope in God’s love, trusting in Him, singing of power and faithfulness!
Thank You, dear Father, for giving us the same opportunity to trust You wholly and sincerely for our every need. As for me, I will sing to You, I will choose to trust You!
