Today’s Encouragement is, “The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NLT
Afresh Each Morning –
Jeremiah wrote these words thousands of years ago. However, he was not in some exalted, ecstatic state of consciousness; in fact, he was in deep trouble, even in despair!
In the preceding and following verses, he says, “He has broken my bones” (v 4), made my chains heavy (v 7), and made my teeth grind on gravel! (v16)
He is in a world of hurt! And in this desperate and defeated despair, he suddenly blurts out this incredible Truth.
God’s Love never ends,
His mercies never cease,
They are refreshed each day, and
He is always faithful!
In the midst of his depression, defeat, and despair, all hope was gone, he suddenly proclaims to himself, “Wait a minute! God still Loves Me!”
We can too, you know. We can choose to turn to Him and to His perfect and eternal Love, regardless of our circumstances and earthly realities.
Thank You, Father God, for Your mercy, new each day, always available to us when we choose to believe You. Help us to turn to You daily, for Your Love, mercy, and faithfulness.
