Filled With Joy

Today’s Encouragement is, “We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.” Colossians 1:11-12 NLT

Filled With Joy –

Joy.  We don’t see it very often, do we? How can we experience it? 

We are too often focused intently on getting things done, accomplishments, building, or getting.  We often miss what is truly important! 

Joy is one of those truly important things!  And this passage holds several keys to unlock the Joy which Jesus can bring us.  

Pray – God loves you. He wants to help us; we are His chosen people, members of His family. Prayer is the channel of communication He has provided for us. 

His Power – All things, including Joy, as possible through Christ (Philippians 4:13). We cannot, in our own strength and power, make ourselves Joyful!  Only He can.

Always thanking the Father – here’s the most critical point.  Gratitude, thankfulness, and appreciation, regardless of our immediate circumstances.  When we consider all His blessings, what He has already given us, and what awaits us in eternity, we will be, we must be grateful!  Joyful! 

Finally, my friend, God has… “enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.”  We live in the light!  We share the inheritance of God’s people! 

We have every reason to be Joyful – because we are His!

Father God, transform us from worried, burdened, driven people into Your grateful, peaceful, and Joyful children.  We pray in Jesus’ Name.
