All For Good

Today’s Encouragement is, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.” Genesis 50:20a NLT

All For Good –

People may intend to harm us. They may do evil things! Jesus clearly told us that we will be hated by the world (John 16:19) and that we will have trouble and sorrow in this life (John 16:33).  So, we need not be surprised, ask, or blame God for the problems we face; He prepared us for them!

And He has a plan!  Joseph’s brothers intentionally harmed him! He really was thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, by his own family!   But God repeatedly intervened in his life and blessed him (see the full story in Genesis 37-50), just as God had planned!

And, my friend, God has a plan for each of us. (Jeremiah 29:11).  Just as He did for Joseph, and God intends it all for good!

We may not recognize it at the time, because we usually see only the troubles of each day.  In God’s word, however, we can read the whole story and see how He works in the lives of His people.  We can see that He really does work all things for our good!  “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 NLT

Joseph suffered greatly, was hated, abandoned, abused, imprisoned, and more, “but God intended it all for good!”

Thank You Father, for working in our lives to use all things for good!  We trust You, even when we don’t see the end, we choose to trust You.
