Today’s Encouragement is, “So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Ephesians 5:15 NLT
How You Live –
Most of us are fully aware of the truth that ‘how we live’ has great importance, and we all struggle with ‘issues’, our faults, failures, addictions, emotions, and habits. At times, we excuse or ignore these ‘issues’, and occasionally we ‘work on’ them. We can easily get discouraged by the ‘issues’ of our sinful nature, our flesh, when we focus on all the things we would like to change in our lives. But God doesn’t want us to be self-critical, picking at every wound of imperfection.
Jesus didn’t come to save us so we could see how imperfect we are!
While it’s true that we are a work in progress, we are not incomplete or half-finished people. We are the reborn, adopted, dearly loved children of God! Is it possible that our ‘issues’ are simply opportunities to surrender more of our lives to Jesus? Serving as reminders of our fallen nature and our need for God’s grace, mercy, healing, and power in our lives!
Jesus has already made us Perfect. Hard to believe, absolutely, but it’s clear in His Word! “For by that one offering [Jesus], he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:14 NLT
And He is making us Holy! By recognizing our ‘issues’, surrendering them to Christ, and seeking help to deal with them, we are doing our part to move toward holiness. God always does His part!
Thank You Father for Your Grace, Mercy, and Love for us. That You have already cleansed and perfected us by Jesus, and that You are daily transforming us into the holy people that You have created us to be.
